Preservation Treatments (Surrey) Limited (PTL) is a founder member of the Guarantee Protection Trust scheme which offers property owner clients of PCA member companies, which are Property Care Association accredited, insurance against guarantee defaults due to insolvency.

As accredited members of the PCA we are also able to offer the benefits of Trustmark, a Government sponsored body set up to register all competent trades-people.

Under the GPI Insurance Scheme protection to the property owner is provided if the accredited contractor is not available to meet a claim. The Guarantee Protection Trust (GPI) will stand in place of that contractor and honour the guarantee.

GPI is totally independent of any commercial concern or manufacturer who supplies the industry. Acceptance of any claim will therefore be completely unbiased and free from any commercial pressures. Most important the Scheme is subject to the same statutory controls which apply to all insurance companies. Substantial insurance cover for the Scheme has been arranged through the London market and provides a £100,000 limit for any single claim, except structural waterproofing, where the liability of the Insurers is stated not to exceed 20% of the original contract price as shown on the Registration Proposal Form. There is a once only insurance premium or registration fee for either timber treatment or damp-coursing work up to a ceiling contract value of £10,000. Similarly, a once only premium or registration fee, that relates to the value of the works, is payable for below ground waterproofing / tanking works, however the policy is only applicable to full schemes, involving walls & floors and ceilings where applicable.

PTL are also members of the Structural Waterproofing Association (SWA).

Through its sister company DWC Contractors & Surveyors (refer to www.dwcuk.com) PTL is able to offer the benefits of an insurance policy offered by The Wall Tie Installers Federation. Please refer to the specimen policy shown. For further information we would refer you to www.wtif.org.uk
